lyrics

Time again for the tribes to gather round. Fires high. Cloaks pulled tight against the cold. Holding their breath as the old crone unwinds our mythology and our history of life before the planet wars, before machines turned skies to blood and the gods threw stars into line and the old tribes died to grab their share.

The old peoples were misled by gold and fuel. The wise went into hiding. Never fully relating our future to all our present sins, we sought out happiness; staggering blind and dumb, we sealed our fate with one last bomb. Now we wipe the dust from our eyes as we look around in surprise. We promised ourselves we'd never make the same mistake over again.

As the old gods did their juggling trick and the planets aligned and the fires lit, the old ones couldn't see cause and effect; future disasters caused by past neglect. The gods turned their back on humanity. You must remember. Don't ignore your history, and pray that new gods grant us clarity.

The old peoples were misled by gold and fuel. The wise went into hiding. Leaving idiots to rule the numbers grew uncountable. Never fully relating our future to all our present sins we sought out happiness; staggering blind and dumb we sealed our fate with one last bomb. Now we wipe the dust from our eyes as we look around in surprise. We promised ourselves we'd never make the same mistake ever again. Over again. Over again.

And the wheel rusting in our path reminds us of our shattered past and the difference between want and need and the price of ignorance and greed.
